FZZT is a brand of Spijkerman E-commerce B.V., registered in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for personal information collected through our website fzzt.nl and our subscription service.

02Data we collect

We only collect data that's necessary to operate our service. Here's exactly what we collect, and when.

When you place an order

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number
  • Delivery information: shipping and billing address
  • Payment details: processed by our payment provider — we never store your card data ourselves
  • Order history: what you've ordered, when, and any subscription preferences

When you use our website

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
  • Usage data: pages visited, time spent, links clicked (via cookies)
  • Marketing preferences: if you've opted in for our newsletter

When you contact us

  • Support history: your messages and our replies, so we can follow up properly

03Why we collect it

Each piece of data we collect has a clear purpose. Here's why:

  • To process and ship your order — we need your name, address, and contact info to deliver your tablets
  • To provide customer support — when you email or message us, we need to know who you are and what you bought
  • To manage your subscription — recurring deliveries require us to remember your preferences
  • To improve our website — analytics help us understand what works and what doesn't
  • To send you marketing — but only if you've explicitly opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To meet legal obligations — Dutch tax authorities require us to keep order records for 7 years

04How long we keep it

We don't keep data longer than necessary.

  • Order data: 7 years (legally required by Dutch tax law)
  • Account data: as long as your account is active, plus 1 year
  • Marketing data: deleted as soon as you unsubscribe
  • Support history: 3 years after the last contact
  • Analytics data: 14 months (anonymized after 26 months)

05Sharing with third parties

We never sell your data. But we do share certain information with trusted partners who help us run the service:

  • Payment provider — to process your payment securely (we use Mollie/Shopify Payments)
  • Shipping partner — to deliver your order (PostNL or DHL depending on destination)
  • Email service provider — to send order confirmations, shipping updates, and marketing (if opted in)
  • Analytics provider — to understand website usage (Google Analytics or similar)
  • Hosting provider — Shopify hosts our store and stores order data

All these partners are bound by data processing agreements that require them to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

We may also share your data if legally required (court order, criminal investigation, etc.) — but we'll inform you when we can.

06Cookies

Like most websites, we use cookies. Some are essential, others help us understand how visitors use the site. Here's a breakdown:

Essential cookies

Needed for the site to work. They remember your cart, login status, and preferences. You can't opt out of these — without them, the site breaks.

Analytics cookies

Help us understand which pages people visit, how long they stay, and where they come from. We use this to improve the site. Anonymized — we can't trace this back to you personally.

  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for any processing based on it

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

08Security

We take data security seriously and use industry-standard measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption — all data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/SSL)
  • Access control — only authorized team members can access customer data, and only when necessary
  • Secure infrastructure — we use Shopify's secure hosting infrastructure with regular security audits
  • Payment security — payment data is handled by PCI-DSS compliant processors; we never store card numbers

That said, no system is 100% secure. If we ever experience a data breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities within 72 hours.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally — for example, when we launch new services or in response to legal changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.

For significant changes, we'll notify you by email (if you have an account or have opted into our newsletter) and post a notice on our website. If you continue using FZZT after a change, you're considered to accept the updated policy.
